Did last month's #UNFSS conference focus too much on investment for food, and not enough on rights and accountability?

Read our co-Director Jody Harris's take on the discussions @justjody23.bsky.social

We need to move away from food systems which encourage overconsumption and overproduction, says IDS researcher Lidia Cabral from @foodequitycentre.bsky.social

As citizens, how can we reassess our relationship with food to help achieve this change?

Food systems are unfair, often built on legacies of colonialism. We need improved policies to support people marginalised in food systems, especially those working in fields, factories & hospitality.

@deewoods.bsky.social explains how food systems can be changed.

What would it take to transform the global food system?

Coinciding with #UNFSS2025 we’re sharing a series of videos from @foodequitycentre.bsky.social hosted by IDS.

For @philbakernz.bsky.social redistribution of resources to enable more households to access healthy food is the key.

Food systems work perfectly...

...for the handful of multinational corporations who control them, that is 😱

We need to focus less on profit, and more on people and planet.

To achieve this we need government action and strong social movements, says @stuartgillespie.bsky.social

People working in food systems - those in fields, in factories and in hospitality need to have their labour fairly compensated.

Recent outbreaks of avian influenza cast doubt on the mantra that large industrialised farms are always best from a biosecurity perspective.

Could the next global pandemic originate from the so-called “developed world”?

Wealth taxes
Increase social grants
Nutrition in schools
