The combination of "Permanent" and "Culture" owes a lot of its roots to indigenous ways of life. It is common to turn to them when industrialization begins to fail and people reach for sustainability.

Research what'll best thrive where you live, but acknowledge the hard work that came before.

Your #permaculture garden can be any size-- you don't need a whole farmstead for it! That's why it's a popular method for smaller spaces, especially urban ones.

Balconies, patios, rooftops, yards of all sizes, a plot of land a community can use.

You can put a lot into your compost-- including poop! Chicken poop is especially high in nitrogen, which helps in the plant's photosynthesis.

The process is a little bit more involved, but it is that simple. And you don't need potatoes from the nursery to do it!

You can read about the details here: www.almanac.com/plant/potatoes

During this time of year, the #Goldenrod #wildflower blooms in yellow waves. It is very important for our ecosystem, as it feeds pollinators and migratory insects. It can also be used in #herbalTea due to its medicinal properties.
