We handed out this flyer at the 2025 @forbes.com Power Women’s Summit today to bring awareness to the blatant hypocrisy of this event. We want Forbes CEO Sherry Phillips to answer why this event is happening when Forbes has a well-documented history of pay inequity. #journalismjobs

Our 2024 pay study also found a large racial pay gap, with the unit’s white members making nearly $24,000 more, on average, than their black colleagues. That kind of disparity doesn’t just happen by accident.

Let's talk about our diminished newsroom. Amid an exodus of talented newsroom staff for greener pastures, Forbes hired only 4 full-time #employees in all of 2024. During the same year, Forbes hired 49 (!!) temps.

2️⃣takeaways: About 40% of the temps hired by Forbes were part-time; and @forbes.com hired 49 temps in 2024 but only 4 full-time employees 😕, down 90% from the estimated 41 full-time employees hired in 2023.

We crunched the data provided to us by @forbes.com management - and found that management has increasingly shifted to using short-term, part-time, temporary employees instead of replacing those who leave with full-timers.
