In the darkest places, look for those pinpoints of light. I’m happy to be here and no longer in the cesspit.
Ever opened a bank account where you had to declare if you were a citizen of another country? They can see the info & cross reference. But more likely this will be aimed at people who gained US citizenship after initially having another citizenship elsewhere; that has to be declared so they’ll know.

The difficulty for the WASPI argument is many women did know & planned accordingly. Compensating some people because they did not pick up on a change in the law opens a huge can of worms. There are things changing all the time affecting people but we don’t wait for an individual letter to deal with.

We have all been hit by rising state pension age over the last 30 years. Everyone has had to adapt. It may be galling that it has happened, but you have to deal with it rather than think denial will result in it all coming right in the end.

I don’t think many got that far, but they are saying that when they did find out it was too late to do anything about it so they had to keep working. But many others did know. I found a communication from 1995 about it. It was widely reported. But there will always be some for whom news passes by.

Financial literacy in this country is woeful. People really shouldn’t just go through life assuming they’ll get given what their parents got, or what ‘received wisdom’ suggests. There is some personal responsibility to plan and research your future.

They only committed to reviewing it after a bit of evidence showed up. But they never committed to rowing back on their decision. I agree with the decision myself. The publicity they did use was enough for most people. But there will always be some who won’t be reached because of, well, ‘life’.

By making them sovereign then there is the opportunity for their use as ‘Freeports’ as well as military. A coastal enclave could have a port facility developed where there US could conduct trade without any control by Greenland.

Remember it on a day last year. Think there was a signalling problem at Hainault and they were running them into the depot from the north to turn them around. This means the train is going into Hainault depot after Grange Hill.

There is a separate ‘common travel area’ between UK and Ireland so in theory you don’t even need a passport to visit or live in Ireland. There are no stay limits. Practically some airlines insist you travel using a passport though.

That was the first interview I can remember for a long time switching off and shouting ‘F*** O**’ at the screen. Absolutely indoctrinated with MAGA BS.

In the "Treaty of the Danish West Indies", US President Woodrow Wilson signs in 1916 that "the Government of the United States of America will not object to the Danish Government extending its political and economic interests to the whole of Greenland." Trump wipes his rump with the contract!

Trump has successfully diverted everyone’s attention to Minneapolis and Greenland so this can be kicked into the long grass. Will likely continue to generate crisis after crisis to keep it there.

Great listen. I would have asked why HMRC make it easy to report extra income online for PAYE tax code, but don’t give any online way to tell them when they over estimate e.g. savings interest. My interest will be less this year than last, but HMRC just reduced my code assuming it will be the same.

The next time some Reform party fan exclaims ‘You must vote Reform if you want change’ you can justifiably laugh out loud at them. Farage is just taking in all the failures who got roundly beaten out at the last election. And he thinks this won’t be noticed?

I guess that is so that they don’t get reported for selling alcohol to under 18s by people who cannot see that the packaging is for alcohol free.

If opponents were reasonable they would be concentrating in a few strong amendments to incorporate rather than shoddy wrecking tactics.

It just weakens their position immensely in the publics eyes if they are seen to be playing stupid games. And strengthens the resolve of those who who were on the fence to see it through.

Because it was mostly being used as a stick to beat the government with.

I call on my party and my government to remove themselves entirely from X and communicate with the public where they actually participate online and can be protected from such illegality.

You really believe the military reason? 😂

It is denial - they don’t want to believe it possible that he will do what he says he will do. Well they better disavow themselves of that belief pretty sharpish now.

The grog itself must be considered as a factor in this.
