A crudely drawn comic in ms paint of Gaius Baelsar having a conversation with Makoh'to, my WoL. Gaius says a modified version of a line he says in canon, "That such atrocities continued unabated is proof of the rot that spread through out the empire."

Makoh'to looks blankly at Gaius before saying with a tired and slightly pitying look, "Gaius. It's all rot. The empire is the rot."

The last panel is Gaius shutting his eyes in frustration. The text "I would have known" is repeated twice with the certain letters drawn over in red that spell out "I knew."

Thought I'd throw it out there in case I worried anyone, but I do still plan on making Gaius merch when it strikes me. Part of my break from cmsn work is to work on cleaning up my merch files so I can get samples made soon :)

I haven't finished reading it yet but I've been getting thru American Psycho during my downtime at work so I can watch the movie to see how they translated it - I do love seeing inside the (fictional) minds of terrible, terrible people. He's so performative in the beginning and is crashing out now.

🥹 I still have a lot I want to share about Gaius and Makoh'to, separately and together, but I'm filling my time with more hobbies away from xiv (altho still... somehow ends up being centered around those two LOL) I'm glad you like seeing Gaius around! He's a fun character to rotate in my mind.

yeah, i think i'm content with the few ppl i really connect with and have gotten to know because of my silly posts. it feels like a disservice to them to constantly yearn for acceptance from strangers when the people who care about me were here the whole time!!! 🥹

-accepted by this space. It was depressing me ngl. I just post hcs, thoughts, and doodles sometimes 😂 I still appreciate the support everyone's given me over the years (if you're from the other site too) but yeah! Nothing is really changing tho. I just feel the shift a lot more these days.

Notes for this one! Major spoilers for both games ahead!!

Death Stranding 1 & 2 Major Spoilers

This one's for the three people who played DS1&2 and follow me... symbolism time!!!

Got this vision beamed to me for a simple composition - the three characters who are heavily involved with the beach, and being stranded on the beach, all smoking. Interesting the characters we see smoking in DS1&2 are on the other side (permanently)!

Fragile is freshly lighting up since half of her still walks among the living. I chose to put her in the brightest light because of this - she's the newest one to this poor group. She's looking ahead - at the viewer? Past them? Because she's still connected... with business left in the physical realm. :) I tried to portray her looking a little sad / guilty for not being able to protect Lou at the beginning.

Cliff's cigarette is burnt out, given the timeline of this piece so he's made his peace. I chose to put him in great shadow for this reason too, even though he would still be lit a bit by the flame. That's also why his eyes are closed.

Then Neil is the closest, almost overbearingly close. His cigarette is midway through burning as he has things left he needs to do. The close-up of the shine in his eyes is in the shape of BB Lou... and a soft orange glow is on him to represent the first area you meet him. His gaze is intense, focused on something off screen. He is hell bent on his goal - protecting Lou!

And if all their cigarettes were full length, they would converge at the flame. A sense of duty drives them all on the beach (and beyond...)

That is to say - hilarious of me to give Gaius tinnitus then experience the cold dread of hearing it in the dead of night. I would be cranky too if I couldn't escape a whining in my head (well, I *was*)! For Gaius it's just a minor punishment and reminder of his past.
