Drew Makoh'to and Gaius as yan instead of working on my comic about Makoh'to making a yan friend, what's new 😂 #ffxivart
A simply lined and flat color work of Makoh'to and Gaius Baelsar, Shadowhunter version, as yan. The yan sport both characters' signature color palettes. Yan Makoh'to is floating and has down-turned horns like the friendly yan, while Yan Gaius is standing on the ground, stern glare, and upturned horns like the non-friendly yan. The horns are also reminiscent of his legatus helm horns.

[hc] i'm drawing gaius and allie so naturally i am thinking about how both are well spoken and can hold their ground, but when it comes to talking to the people they have crushes on they're kind of out of their comfort zone. big fan of that trope lol

[hc] I wasn't able to draw it this year but please imagine with me Makoh'to and Gaius back at their Gridania inn room, just recounting the day. Makoh'to says it looked like Allie had a lot of fun! And Gaius agrees, feeling some way about the fact he has a little family to celebrate the day with.

Makoh'to and Gaius are standing next to each other and having a conversation. Makoh'to: I love you! Gaius: You probably say that to everyone. Makoh'to, looking very happy: Yes. Gaius, looking mildly hurt: What do you mean "yes"? Makoh'to pats Gaius on the chest and says, "I do tell everyone that I love you." Gaius looks away. He's smiling slightly and has a tinge of blush on his cheeks.

Gaius is quick to turn to Makoh'to, who is already pondering the question with an all-knowing smile. He responds excitedly, "Well... there's music, letters, link pearl calls - so many ways!" There is a tiny doodle of Makoh'to having a call with Gaius. Makoh'to laughs as he leans into Gaius, looking up at him with a big laugh. "But that's how *I* would do it!" Makoh'to grins. Page 2 of 2. A comic about Allie hanging out with her crush, Miladeen from the Sharlayan custom delivery quests. The first panel shows Allie approaching Miladeen with a packed lunch. Miladeen is reading. Makoh'to's words echo in Allie's mind, "How would Allie do it?" Allie quietly asks, "Would you like to have lunch? Together...?" Before she continues in an equally measured ramble of, "Miss Ameliance mentioned that you were feeling homesick, so I asked for her help with a recipe I recently learned..." Miladeen looks up from her book at a blushing Allie. She closes her book and responds, "Yes! I would like that very much!" The last part of the comic shows the two girls having lunch together. Miladeen happily exclaims "Wow! Just like home!" about the food as Allie watches her with a gentle smile.

Gaius: My eyes are starting to water… – Makoh'to: Make sure to generously season the hamsa breast! Gaius: (What is considered “generous” …?) – Gaius: Why not use a measuring cup for consistency? Makoh'to: This bowl works! Gaius: And if we no longer have that bowl? Makoh'to, picking up an entirely different sized bowl: This one would work, too! – Makoh'to: Then a handful of diced onions… Gaius: My hands are larger than yours. Gaius is in Gridania during the Valentione's Day event. A little girl spreading knowledge about the event approaches him to discuss his Valentione's Day plans. Girl: Mister! Are you planning to give a special someone a gift this Valentione's Day? Gaius: I am not familiar with this... celebration. What would one gift for this occasion? Girl: Assuming you have the skills, they say nothing conveys your feelings quite like chocolates you made yourself. And if you're thinking flowers... red azeyma roses never fail to please! After imparting her wisdom, the girl runs off to talk to more people. Gaius is then shown buying flowers at the florist shop, where he runs into Makoh'to's sister, Kohna, who is doing the same. They meet back at Kohna's house where she seems to be having a candid discussion with Gaius. Kohna: *You* want to make chocolates for Makoh'to? Perhaps it's not that shocking - given you *did* come to me for help with your heartfelt proposal. To think you were once the Black Wolf... Gaius: Will you help or not? A montage of scribbles showing Gaius crafting chocolates with Kohna's help. Another panel of an above view showing Gaius walking up towards Makoh'to, box of chocolates and flowers in hand. A fullbody view of Gaius and Makoh'to both holding flowers and a sweet treat for the other. Makoh'to looks overjoyed. Gaius looks fondly at him. Gaius feeding Makoh'to chocolates. Meowdy!!!! I am "back" but my life has gotten considerably busier in the time I've been away (I feel like it's been eons...) I'm going to slowly work up to a sustainable pace re: socializing since I hardly have time to draw even atm 😭 My goal rn is working on my contest entry + fest stickers :)
