He makes an excuse to miss the game, but Noodles isn't buying it, spying on Herky as he goes on a date with this new girl. Noodles confronts Herky, but the boy might just be a lost cause.

Sunday edition of comic strip "Encyclopedia Brown," based on the boy detective books by Donald J. Sobol. Encyclopedia Brown discovers that his friend Winslow has been sold a special tonic that'll give him great strength. When Brown checks out the kids selling it, he detects that the tonic is a fake. The solution to the mystery is written upside in the final panel. It reads: "Mike hadn't bought a suit in three years - yet he supposedly gained 100 pounds in one year. Notice the way Mike's suit fits. If either claim were true, Mike wouldn't even get into his jacket! 'Hercules Strength Tonic' was exposed as colored water. Winslow got his money back and the two boys were put out of business."
