But something tells me that it's harder to sell that you can beat corruption in a way that does right by the Venezuelan people than to sell a grand conspiracy against the US and the Venezuelan people.

That's exactly where I stand. I think these people are obviously corrupt, but do not have allegiance to any organization.
If the Trump administration wants to intervene in Venezuela to stop corruption, they should be raising support based on that, not some imaginary organization.

I'd certainly accept that there are figures in the Venezuelan government that are involved with drug smuggling, and that they might even know who each other are, but I struggle to imagine any sort of structure or planning with the evidence I have seen.

Given all that, why was Ford chosen as the carrier to be deployed here? The only thing that differentiates it to me is the fact that it's the biggest carrier in the world (for intimidation). All the other carriers would also provide the same level of overmatch.

This real reads as something entirely different from what Hegseth was proposing. That document sounds like an announcement of an R&D/integration project for having a picture of the sea, Hegseth represents it in much more active terms (remove)

I really don't understand what the play is here... Is the Dpt of Ag not planning on back paying SNAP? If so, where will that programmed funding go? It's not like the government isn't collecting taxes over the shutdown. The money will be available.
