I kind of consider Autosport to be ragebait stuff at this point. Sometimes they have good points, but a lot of the time they just seem to love the sound of their own voices a bit much.
There's also the British bias stuff and the British/European coddling of F1 over all other motorsport.

Yes. And Russian athletes also keep being caught in doping scandals. It's almost as if they don't respect fair competition...

There's also the ongoing kind of lie that F1 drivers are the absolute most bestest drivers out there. Nevermind the political stuff keeping drivers in or out, it's only particular kind of open wheel racing. Europeans are really good at coddling their F1 baby like that.

I dislike top whatever lists in general and this year they seem to be excuses to continue the hate on Lando under the guise of "facts." Some have put Max ahead of Lando while downplaying Max using his car as a weapon. IMO it's a patriarchy bullshit thing because Max is "strong" and Lando "weak."

These fuckers live in my head, too. And Mr. Toomey.
December 13, 2025 at 10:25 PM
I don't think I explained it any better. I was being sarcastic in saying "there's nothing we can do."
December 13, 2025 at 9:19 PM
That isn't what I mean at all; I meant the opposite. I was trying to contrast how in fiction the time travellers keep telling us how easy it might be to change the future, with how folks in real life comfort themselves with saying "there's nothing we can do."
December 13, 2025 at 9:17 PM
No, I don't. Didn't mean to mansplain to you.
December 13, 2025 at 9:12 PM
More relevant, in time travel stories the characters are always saying "don't even talk to anyone as it could change the future" but in real life there's absolutely nothing we could possibly do to affect the future even a tiny bit...

I know it's not the point, but as a reformed physical scientist they are almost certainly more qualified than you might think on technological requirements, and from experience very qualified on the politics.
December 13, 2025 at 5:54 PM
Unrelated tangent: Ferrari's naming strategy is slightly confusing (although still nowhere near whatever the hell xbox is doing), and I continue to be disappointed that the "VF" in the Haas names does not mean "Very Fast." (It's just riffing of what Gene Haas called some machine. Sad face.)
December 11, 2025 at 5:43 PM
Good old politics will never go away in F1; it will never be a meritocracy.
December 11, 2025 at 5:35 PM
I've heard many previous comments from the amount of info particularly Lando gets. But if he didn't want it, it wouldn't happen.
Bigger point, of those transcriptions only Oscar was wished a good race.
December 10, 2025 at 5:01 PM
I misread your comment as "The use of degenerative AI" lmao. Accidentally accurate.
December 10, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Annoyed face. This is the "unexpected" by catch of such laws. I have an email address older than many current F1 drivers but bluesky thinks I'm a kid because I refuse to verify my age. At least I can still use it tho...
December 10, 2025 at 12:22 PM
Lol what has been seen cannot be unseen..

I think Aston Martin were the only team to figure out how to make their wheel covers look good with their simple yet effective yellow stripe.
December 9, 2025 at 6:19 PM
Yea...
Formula E is just starting a new season, I'm gonna check that out.

Marko has been the cause of RBR's brutal driver swaps in refusing to give drivers time to perform, while also being focused 4000% on Max and refusing the 2nd driver the resources they need.
I think he's destroyed many potential great drivers.
December 9, 2025 at 4:43 PM
Oof. Too soon.
December 9, 2025 at 4:31 PM
RBR have made it very difficult for Courtney to leave, deliberately delaying him joining a major competitor. I think he's been on gardening leave a good chunk of the year.

Many online tools have backends to spy on users. Given the UK govt crackdown on queer youth that's a terrible opportunity for them to further spy on them.
The big question is why doesn't the govt want people to talk to each other? It's a divide and conquer strategy. To isolate all of us.
December 8, 2025 at 10:26 PM
eg. I was a teenager into F1. No one I knew was into it. Should I not have been able to talk to anyone online about a hobby no one local to me shared?
Bullying and grooming are separate issues--which very much do need addressing. But denying young people communication is not the answer.
