17. Star Wars: Legacy of Vader: The Reign of Kylo Ren Vol. 1

I loved getting to return to the gap between TLJ and TRoS. The comic does a good job of tying ST-era Kylo in with Vader’s PT arc.

16. The History and Politics of Star Wars by @chriskempshall.bsky.social

What a read! As someone who read books from the EU and the expanded Disney canon, it was REALLY cool to get an analysis of Star Wars that takes it ALL into account rather than solely the films.

HIGHLY recommend for SW fans

15. Enshittifiction by Cory Doctorow

An easy to read summary about the decay of the Internet, its causes, and possible solutions (which are basically to revive unions [including for tech workers] and get laws passed saying execs CANT enshittify their companies or services.)

14. Immediately, or, The Style of Too-Late Capitalism by Anna Kornbluh

I found myself disagreeing with the book’s core argument multiple times, but nonetheless really enjoyed reading it and thinking about said argument.

13. The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire by @chriskempshall.bsky.social

An in-universe history book, it’s an attempt to explain the horrors of the Empire to a galaxy reeling from the events of TRoS.

In the spirit of Andor, it uses Star Wars to explain our own “evil empires” to us as well.

1. Hyperspace Skipping was pretty cool
2. Withered Palpatine hanging from the mechanical arm is so iconic.
3. Hey! Babu Frik!
4. My EU-loving heart was happy to get a yellow saber on screen.
5. I loved Rey force healing a creature rather than killing it. Very Jedi.

I *loved* this book (which is no surprise because I also love his TikToks.)

The Last Jedi is, imo, the most holistically Star Wars movie since Disney bought Lucasfilm.

It contains the franchise in all its aspects from myth to action to cute little guys.

11. Fantastic Four: Grand Design

A retelling of classic FF that I read as part of research for Fantastic Four Trivia on @radiofreemultiverse.com!

One of the standouts is the body horror treatment of Sue’s powers

10. Fun and enlightening read about how the roots in our cultish thinking can be traced back to before the Puritans set sail.

It’s a very empathetic look at cults while not shying away from the horrors committed by cult leadership.

On Saturday and Sunday, #ThatShow raised over $16,000 towards mental health services in schools!

I watched 19 out of 24 hours of the stream and made art the entire time. I loved spending almost a literal day watching the tri-state area’s greatest weirdos do dumb comedy bits for a good cause.

As soon as I saw Tallie Medel’s Saturn Devouring His Son on the latest #ThatShow Hosted by Chris Gethard, I knew it would be the subject of my fan art for this ep.

I’m so grateful for That Show as a space for bold and innovative comedy and Saturn Devouring His Son really exemplifies that.

6. The Wandering Mind by Jamie Kreiner

A fun read about how medieval monks approached combatting distraction (and the view of cognition that lead them to do it.)

5. Stan Lee Presents the Marvel Comics Illustrated Version of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

A very fun retelling, Darth Vader calls Luke a youngster when he tells him to search his feelings.
