Road to Replication Research map, which details the important timelines, starting from the discussions to start from February 4th 2025; then the advertisement strategy on February 12th; Open Peer review on February 18th; Reliability Check on 20th February; Formation and Structure of the editorial board on 6th March; Efficient publication process/comments/finding reviewers on March 18th; Article type and author instructions on March 27th; long term funding on 3rd April; and to end with the TOP guidelines on 9 April 2025. After this, there is the Replication Research Symposium on May 14 to 16 2025.

FORRT is working on a transdisciplinary project, aiming to gather insights from diverse disciplines and regions to map and critically evaluate feedback strategies across the research cycle. We hope that this will be particularly beneficial for marginalised and early-career researchers. One of the key outputs will be an e-book, and we need your help to ensure our survey translations are clear and accurate. To make the survey as accessible as possible, we’ve enabled various translations. If you're fluent in a language other than English, we’re asking for approximately 15 minutes of your time to review the automated translation of the survey generated through Qualtrics and highlight any issues or unclear areas. Get involved Paid opportunity Thanks to a partnership with the Center for Open Science (COS), we can now offer a paid opportunity to record replications from original papers across disciplines: We are seeking individuals interested in systematically recording replication entries from original papers to expand and validate FReD. Feel like you need further support in this area? Team Outreach want to hear from you on how we could help support you to get more involved in FORRT. Please complete the attached survey to provide your feedback on our ideas, and suggest new ideas to support people to get more involved in FORRT. FORRT's Educators' Corner - volunteer needed Do you have or want to gain experience in science communication and leadership? FORRT are looking for a thoughtful and organized individual to manage FORRT's Educators' Corner! The role involves identifying and inviting contributors to share their insights on educational topics (upon checking with community managers); providing feedback to authors on their drafts; and publishing the final content on our website using basic markdown (easy to learn but we can help with it!). The process includes guiding authors through a standard prompt via Google Docs and supporting them through revisions. There are no minimum number of blogs per period, and contributions will be shared as we come across them on social media or elsewhere. Interested in role? Please contact us at info@forrt.org. Call for Project Managers - Team Summaries FORRT is seeking Project Managers to support its Team Summaries initiative, which distills key insights from the Open and Reproducible Science literature. As a Project Manager, you will lead efforts to review and finalize summaries, oversee volunteers, and contribute to a manuscript on the initiative. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain authorship and present your work at Open Science events. New paper from Team Replications The paper introduces the Replication Database, a novel platform hosting 1,239 original findings paired with replication findings. The database makes replications easily findable via a graphical user interface. The infrastructure of this database allows researchers as well to submit additional replication findings. Replications Team presentation Lukas Röseler, from FORRT team Replications, spoke about the Replications Database and the vision for the Replications hub at the DGPs 2024 conference on Thursday 19th September. Catch the slides here. POSTEdu is hosting one more launch event to talk to educators! In the launch event, we will provide an overview of the project and talk to educators to get input on how best to develop a pedagogically-informed, evidence-based, self-guided program for educators interested in teaching Open Research. This autumn, we’re hosting a series of FORRT hackathons designed to advance our glossary of open science terms. We plan to translate this amazing resource into more languages and extend the glossary to include more open science terms. After receiving a grant from @improvingpsych.bsky.social, @forrt.bsky.social’s #Neurodiversity team has worked tirelessly on creating a living resource that celebrates the diversity of #OpenScholarship by highlighting neurodivergent researchers and their work.
Rita Repulsa from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers states that she is free after 10,000 years to conquer Earth, as the neurodivergent database is finally ready to be shared with the public.

Newsletter Highlights Vacancy for a Scientific Coordinator & Community Engagement manager! The LMU Open Science Center in Munich has a vacancy for a Scientific Coordinator & Community Engagement manager (E13 TV-L; 01/2025 to 12/2027, i.e. 3 years). The task is to implement the Volkswagen Foundation pioneer project “From local to systemic implementation: Embedding open research in institutional practices” which includes an explicit collaboration with FORRT to develop a train-the-trainer program. At LMU, you will also work with Felix Schönbrodt and Malika Ihle, and will work closely with Team FORRT Curriculum to develop training materials based on an updated version of FORRT Clusters. Project Updates POSTEdu Launch Events - Register to participate Last year FORRT received a grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) to develop a pedagogically-informed, evidence-based, self-guided program for supporting the teaching of Open Science. Our goal is to develop three modules for educators interested in teaching Open Science through a positive, participatory, and inclusive lens. To kickstart the project (POSTEdu), we are holding two online launch events (18th June and 25th June) where we aim to talk to educators to identify the challenges and opportunities they face when incorporating Open Science into teaching and mentoring, and to get their input and opinion on how best to develop these modules. Events and Meetings Previous On the 4th June, The Norwegian Reproducibility Network (NORRN) hosted their 3rd Annual Conference of Norwegian Reproducibility Network. Helena Hartmann, from Team Replications and Reversals, was part of the panel discussion on big team science. In the session, they discussed their experiences with participation in, and leading of, big team science projects. Upcoming On the 19th June (3-6pm CEST), Team Replications and Reversals are hosting a Hackathon at the online Society for the Improvement of Psychological Science (SIPS) 2024 Meeting, with the aim to improve the FORRT Replication Database. Team Landscape looking for data analysts! FORRT's Landscape team is pleased to announce that they have finished screening the open scholarship literature dataset and are now looking for data analysts to join their team to conduct a comprehensive analysis (focused on keywords and themes). Please see here for further details on the open call for data analysts. Everyone is welcome to join! If you are interested, please indicate your interest here by 15th May. The preprint paper discusses the Replication Database project, which aims to collate replication effects across psychological research. The database is a novel platform hosting over 1,200 original findings paired with replication findings. The paper provides an overview of the project, with a thorough documentation of the database, its structure, where the findings come from, and some preliminary results. FReD re-applying for the Einstein Award 2024 The FORRT Replication Database (FReD) Project is re-applying for the Einstein Award 2024. The Einstein Award for Promoting Quality in Research honors researchers around the globe whose work aims to advance the quality, transparency, and reproducibility of research. The paper focuses on what Open Science can mean for educational technology research, including challenges, opportunities, and call for further research. On Friday 22nd March, Open Life Science (OLS) and FORRT collaborated to host a workshop and survey investigating the intersection between big team science; diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility; and data science. We presented FORRT, its mission, initiatives, and future projects at the Open Science Retreat (25th to 29th of March). The Replications and Reversals team also presented twice at the Center for Open Science (COS) Conference. Well done to Lukas Wallrich, Lukas Röseler, and Helena Hartmann! Newsletter Highlights Two groups of FORRT members were recently awarded funding by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) Open Science Fund for two new projects: 1) Promoting Open Science Teaching: A Positive, Inclusive and Participatory Program for Educators (POST-Edu). Team: Leticia Micheli, Madeleine Pownall, Helena Hartmann, Thomas Rhys Evans, & Karen Matvienko-Sikar. 2) JUST-OS for all: An AI-based chatbot for navigating Open Science resources. Team: Rink Hoekstra, Nina Schwarzbach, Vera Heiniga, Flavio Azevedo, Michiel van der Ree. FORRT was also one of the eight recipients of funding from the Open Infrastructure Fund. The project "Improving accessibility and usability of FORRT’s Open Educational Resources" aims to improve the usability and accessibility of the FORRT website and open educational resources to make it easier for people to utilize and benefit from the rich trove of community-developed resources. Well done everyone! We are thrilled to present our new syllabus and lecture slides (with script) on the Credibility Revolution/Replication Crisis based on our previous article. The course aims to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the challenges and transformative changes brought about by the replication crisis in psychological science. The course includes critical topics such as the replication crisis, the credibility revolution, embedding open science into the curriculum, and the role of incentives for researchers, journals, and funders. We are very enthusiastic for this new phase of Team Summaries and thankful to the co-leads who accepted to lead this project! News from our partner organizations Help the Center for Open Science by participating in brief informal interviews The Center for Open Science (COS) has received an award from NSF’s Pathways to Open Source Ecosystem (POSE) to develop with research communities tools that support open scholarship practices through maturing the Open Science Framework’s (OSF) open-source ecosystem. COS is looking for people interested in participating in brief interviews to help them understand how to create the most rewarding mutually beneficial developer community possible. Section: Newsletter Highlights Title: Replications and Reversals. Finalist for the Early Career Einstein Foundation Award. The FORRT project 'Replications and Reversals' was selected as a finalist for the Early Career Einstein Foundation Award for promoting quality in research. The Reversals team has been recognised for their contribution to improving research by tracking and mainstreaming replications across the Social, Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences. On the 9th November, all finalists took part in an online event hosted by the Einstein Foundation, where each finalist described their project to the voting jury. While ultimately FORRT did not win the award, being selected as a finalist was a huge honour! The event was also a fantastic place to highlight the project and all its achievements to date. We've summarised the project below: Replications of previous scientific work are at the core of the Open Scholarship movement. However, as replication studies become more widespread, it can be challenging to keep up to date with which effects replicate and which do not. FORRT’s Replications and Reversals project aims to collate the latest replications in social sciences, and any reversals, which refers to effects that have their original direction flipped. This resource aims to be a “living”, freely available, crowd-sourced, and community-driven collection of effects that have either not been replicated or even reversed through empirical research across social sciences. Interested in helping out? The project invites scholars from varied backgrounds and across social sciences to contribute on the effects in their fields. Please see the Replications and Reversals webpage on FORRT for more information Section: Project Updates Title: Team Curation - 1,000 curated resources Team Curation in partnership with the Center for Open Science (Crystal Steltenpohl & Katie Corker) has hit 1000 curated Open Science and Open Education resources. Check out the curated resources here! Want to help to curate more resources for the community? You can submit resources to appear on FORRT's website using this link. Team Curation is looking for new members to help increase and manage FORRT's database of curated Open Science resources. Interested? Join FORRT's Slack and introduce yourself on the Curation channel. Section: Events and Meetings On October 27th, FORRT received an invitation to present its various projects aimed at advancing Open Science education during the official launch event of the Netherlands Reproducibility Network (NLRN). During the event, FORRT hosted a workshop to discuss how NLRN and FORRT could join forces towards a better future for Open Science Education. The day was full of exciting plans and we hope to see many of them realised in the near future! On October 25th, ReplicationWiki organised a webinar and Q&A session featuring FORRT Team Replications & Reversals, where Helena Hartmann, Flavio Azevedo, and Bethan Iley delivered presentations on the project.
