Spent the first part of the new year 3-D scanning Pleistocene fossils @valivingmuseum including walrus, mammoth, and quite a bit of mastodon. Assisted by Nas A and Madi S and hosted by Non Living Curator (great job title Alec Z). I first scanned fossils for the museum back in 2018 #FossilFriday

This giant beaver (Castoroides ohioensis) skull, specimen NYSM VP-47, was found in Clyde, NY. A CT scan was performed by Albany Medical Center and was translated into a 3-D model by Terrie Simmons-Ehrhardt. The skull was digitally split using MeshMixer #FossilFriday
