We heard similar from the club in the past, "if you have to buy in January something has gone wrong", it's less spin & more that's just how the club views this window. Farke is a great politician, knows when he can & can't rock the boat. Here he knows it's best for all parties to tow the party line

I don’t fully understand why the club is getting so much criticism. Fans just want to sign someone for the sake of it. The criteria seems sensible. We don’t have £40m to pay up front - that rules out most. Also DCL is clearly our lead for the next 14 games. Who are all these alternatives?
