Art is hard. It takes a lot of revision and practice to get somewhere good from the first things that come out of our brains. Many people are afraid to have bad 1st drafts because we share everything now and it feels like a public failure to not instantly be good instead of just a step in a process.

Were 90s kids clamoring for a Batman cartoon with 1930s Art Deco aesthetics? Is that what the market demanded? Or did some really smart creative people have a vision and make a genre-defining hit that sustained 20 years of TV shows? If you want success look for vision, not just metrics.
