No, it wasn't ignorant. The USA involvement was as one of many. They were the main force in the Pacific. Their involvement was as an exporter of goods for the Allied war effort until 1941. I was expressing my opinion about films that misrepresent this.

Get a grip, weirdo.

I do like those films too but ever since, like, Kill Bill, I just don't look forward to anything he does.

We had a rash of the TERFs here in Australia in the past two years. They all either failed at being popular, failed in court or destroyed the Victorian Liberal Party branch by cosying up to neo-nazis. They are toxic. How did they get so much traction in England?

Something like that.

As I've gotten older I have turned into a bit of a Tarantino hater.

I think he does character dialog well but has bad impulses and doesn't interrogate his themes beyond their function in the script. He steals from other movies too much. Also, the violence against women.

That's nice.

I didn't particularly want a discussion about USA involvement in the war as it kind of detracts from the point that the movie was violent and nihilistic, which I found grating.

in reality the Soviet's were closing in and he shot himself instead of being captured. Also because he was an evil coward.

In Inglorious Basterds I believe he is shot in the theatre before it burns down.

We're talking about an alternative history Tarantino film.

I don't care if you like to pretend that America killed Hitler.

There is also a show called Married at First Sight and if you like entertaining trash, MAFS is for you

Praise Ra!

A lot of people enjoy Inglorious Basterds but I just shrugged at a more violent retake of the Dirty Dozen where Americans kill fantasy Hitler. Why can't Americans be content that they mainly fought in the Pacific? Whatever. Tarantino's nihilism is grating.

Throughout history the British tended to hurt others and the food is one of the reasons why

What has Chomsky done that he gets mentioned with Bannon?

I'm not being sarcastic, I actually don't know what he's up to these days

I like Norman Powell more than Tyler Herro.

In a trade, what do you think you'd get for Herro?
December 11, 2025 at 6:33 AM
That anyone would try to spin this as a story is weird and is just political correctness.
