Thank you, Stephanie, and those involved in this young porcupine rescue and transport here. (That's Stephanie and I talking in the video.). It takes a village and you are absolutely right - it's amazing to see the teamwork when animals are in need.

He has some crust on his eyes and he's got some internal parasites but hopefully we can get him cleaned up inside and out and he will be good to go in the spring.

He's not a big guy - less than 5lbs (2.2kg) so we can safely assume that he was born sometime this past summer.

Thank you. ❤️
The craziest part was that I didn't know it until months after the virus was in retreat. I didn't have a rash. It was the weirdest thing. All the horrible pain and no idea what was going on.
It damaged the nerve because it wasn't treated while it was active.

Thank you. Seriously... It has been mind boggling bad.

June 1 - I can literally pin it down to a day - and it was like dominoes. My body just started a full blown coup.
Hopefully it's over and I can just start to heal. I am beyond exhausted. ❤️‍🩹

And because my supporters are amazing, here’s a treat: a video of Peekaboo the porcupine absolutely stuffing his face with sweet potatoes like it’s an Olympic sport.
Peak joy. Peak chaos. Peak Peekaboo. 🦔💚

Also… confession: I haven’t checked my emails in months.
When you’re exhausted, you handle the essentials and let everything else fall where it falls.
If you emailed me and never heard back — it’s not you. It’s my very dramatic, low-battery immune system.

It’s been almost 10 years to the day since I had an actual “day off,” and my body kept the receipts and cashed them all in at once.

After the most difficult year of my life physically — including a surprise case of shingles I didn’t even know I had — my body finally tapped out.
Not gently. More like: “SIT DOWN, MA’AM.”

Probably. I can't get weight off of him, we will probably do bloodwork.

Neither one has been using their new wheels but hopefully they will take to it the same way Elliott has to his. If not, I'm sure that next year's babies will love them!
Thank you so much!!
