This week, I met with the Ministerial Alliance of Durham who all expressed their concerns about the local impacts of our nation's ongoing health care crisis.

Local organizations and places of worship are too often expected to pick up the slack for our government—I'm fighting to help fix that.

Federal workers shouldn't pay the price for a government shutdown, instead Republicans are using them as pawns in their political games.

It also concerns me that Trump can't seem to remember that he signed the law which guarantees backpay for furloughed federal workers.

A new White House memo says that furloughed federal workers aren't entitled to back pay.

This is clearly against the law, which guarantees furloughed federal employees back pay for the duration of a government shutdown.

Domestic violence impacts millions of people every year. Please remember that it is never too late to ask for help.

If you or a loved one is a victim of domestic violence, call the 24-hour National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE.

The GOP won't swear-in Adelita Grijalva, leaving AZ-07 without a federal representative during a government shutdown.

She will also be the 218th and final signature to force a vote to release the Epstein files—I'm sure that's just a coincidence, right?

What to Know About Adelita Grijalva and Her Stalled Swearing-In to Congress
Speaker Mike Johnson is blaming the shutdown. Others think it may have to do with the Epstein files.

Our government has shut down, but Speaker Johnson refuses to call the House in session and Donald Trump is out golfing.

Enough is enough—Democrats stand ready to work in a bipartisan manner to deliver for the American people while House Republicans are taking a paid vacation.

Today marks 2 years since Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel which claimed thousands of innocent lives.

More than ever, a ceasefire is needed to ensure safe return of the remaining hostages, proper delivery of humanitarian aid to families in Gaza, and lasting peace in the region.

You don’t have to go far to see how important ACA tax credits are for North Carolinians—here’s a snapshot of what my constituents are telling me right here on social media.

I joined CBS 17 earlier this week to discuss the Republican shutdown.

Let me be clear: @housedemocrats.bsky.social are resolute and won't stop fighting to protect healthcare for Americans across the country.

No one should see their health insurance premium double overnight.

I'm working to restore Medicaid and health insurance funding that Republicans cut and oppose. Everyone should be able access to the healthcare they deserve.

REMINDER: Trump and Republicans are fighting for record cuts to healthcare to fund his Big, Ugly Billionaire Tax Break.

There’s nothing ‘clean’ about over 56,000 people in my district seeing their healthcare coasts soar.

Let’s be clear: undocumented immigrants aren't covered by the ACA or Medicaid—period.

We want to protect American’s healthcare after Republicans voted to strip over 10 million people of their healthcare in the Big, Ugly Bill.
foushee.house.gov
Republicans are putting the healthcare of millions of Americans at risk.

This shutdown isn’t about politics. It’s about seniors being able to pay for their prescriptions, parents being able to take their kids to the doctor, and helping small businesses thrive.

Wishing all those observing in #NC04 and across the world a meaningful Yom Kippur. G'mar Chatima Tovah!

J.D. Vance thinks whether Americans can go to the hospital or not is a ‘policy disagreement’.

Shameful.

Vance: You don't use your policy disagreements as leverage to not have essential services of government actually function

I have asked the U.S. House to withhold my pay during this government shutdown.

Federal workers across the nation will suffer from this shutdown forced by the President and the GOP's Congressional majorities—and if they can't get paid, neither should members of Congress.

This morning, the GOP shut down the government in an attempt to force record cuts to federal healthcare programs.

Alongside @housedemocrats.bsky.social, I am ready to work across the aisle, but Republicans would rather hurt American families than back off these harmful cuts.

My statement:
foushee.house.gov
The government shuts down at midnight.

House Democrats are in DC fighting to keep it open and lower health care costs, but Republicans refuse to even show up to negotiate.

They would rather shut down the government than address the health care crisis they have inflicted on the American people.

Gun violence is a public health crisis.

Today, I introduced the National Gun Violence Research Act with @beyer.house.gov and @frost.house.gov to fund research, expand training, and improve federal coordination to turn data into lifesaving policies and solutions.

I’m heartbroken over the horrific act of violence at a Michigan church & the mass shooting in Southport, NC this weekend. My heart is with the victims, their families & communities.

Americans deserve to feel safe. Congress must pass gun reforms that will save lives & make our communities safer.

Government funding runs out on September 30.

Democrats are ready to negotiate to keep the government open and lower costs, but Republicans canceled votes and Trump walked away from bipartisan talks.

If the government shuts down, Trump and Republicans have only themselves to blame.
