...Yeah, idk. I guess I'm just still salty about DAV and that's making Dragon Age something I miss interacting with but have a tough time finding joy in anymore.

And with 10 years between games and all of the development hell that DAV went through, of course it was never going to live up to the collective hype/creativity/literally unlimited potential of what the fan base came up with for where the series could go from Trespasser. I know that.

But reading pre-DAV stuff feels "pointless" because DAV is what's canon. It's what we got. It's where the story ends and what we have to shape Dragon Age around now. And I can't just ignore that and enjoy the speculative works people were putting out because it makes me sad that we DIDN'T get that.

A big part of "Why" is how bitter I feel about DAV. I don't like the direction they went with Solas or how it all ended or... so many things. So I don't want to read post-DAV stuff because I don't like where it left us. I'm frustrated and bored by it, and uninterested in where it was /maybe/ going.

Sure, I think he's talking about it being far enough in the future (for a DA IP reboot to even be on the table) that DATV would need/benefit from some reworking (or "polish", as he put it). But you're right, "remaster" def wasn't the right term there, mb.

Tl;dr: As a way forward for the DA franchise, they had softly pitched "retroactively rebranding the first three games as if they were a trilogy, and calling it ‘The Champions’ Trilogy’". Then maybe doing a remaster of DATV, see what people think, and go from there.

Yes!!! This!!! I've started following a few people I've seen talking about being in the early stages of the game just so I can watch as they progress through the rest of it.
