I agree, as much as I like Edward G. Robinson, I don’t care for those two movies. I do wish Gloria Grahame had won her Oscar for The Big Heat instead of The Bad and the Beautiful.

Ooh! I just got the Criterion The Big Heat for Christmas, along with The Awful Truth. I’m looking forward to seeing it again because it’s been awhile.

100%. I loved hearing her talk about The Scarlet Empress. While Wendy Hiller was fantastic in Murder On The Orient Express, I would have loved to have seen Dietrich as the Princess Dragomiroff, as Sidney Lumet supposedly wanted.

I just reread A Christmas Carol, and Mr. Magoo is very faithful to the original, except it doesn’t have the nephew. I think it’s one of the few to include the laundress, charwoman, and undertaker.
