Christmas cookie production started late this season. This is a 3-4 day process, though lots of lag in between this year with other to-dos. Finally cut and baked 230 cookies! A complicated dough to handle but they turned out as delicious as always. Tomorrow we paint them. 🍽️

Friday night is also pizza night in my house, but what I didn’t know is that it was also new computer night for my husband, so the pizza had to be reheated. Although, admittedly, it looks rather awful, I have to say it was pretty amazing in all its baked cheesy goodness. Lucky for him!

For lovers of drier confections, this is the perfect cake for tea time on a cold rainy or snowy December afternoon. Last year, I put the last slices in the toaster oven to turn them into dippable “biscotti” for my earl grey or hot chocolate. So good!

I wish you could all smell this picture. My granny’s Christmas coffee cake is all cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla and espresso, and it is the kick-off to a month of baking and cooking the best of my repertoire for my family. #XmasBaking 🍽️
