Just Frank Black things
No. I'm busy that weekend.

Rod Dreher was a teenager in the 80s. At least one formative film in his life was made by Reiner. There's a reason all the GOPs denouncing this are Gen X men. It's less to do with murder and more to do with the art Reiner made. They would cheerlead these same words directed at a different target.

Thomas Massie was a teenager in the 80s. He doesn't have a set of standards. He just really likes Stand By Me.

They believe it is a straight line. Your confusion comes from the fact that you are using your brain. These folks have only the pursuit of godhood motivating them. Their ethos is literally not to think about things. Move fast and break things is antithetical to thinking.
December 15, 2025 at 3:40 AM
Yes. Ignorance is not stupidity. These people aren't ignorant. They're stupid. Truly stupid. I am not an Internet rando. I am Frank Black, singer/songwriter of The Pixies
December 15, 2025 at 3:38 AM
They can't do it ever. Gods cannot be built. The rules of the game forbid it. This will never stop them from spending every last dollar on the newest fancy sounding thing they mistake as a pathway to godhood.
December 15, 2025 at 2:34 AM
I cannot emphasize this enough: these people are the stupidest motherfuckers on the entire planet. I've spoken with them. I will continue to speak with them. Some of them have raw intellect, but no curiousity or humility. Most lack even that.
December 15, 2025 at 2:33 AM
I think your concern about lawsuits is very valid. That said, lawsuits can never be a god. Very explicitly, these people are obsessed with building God, because they want to be God. Quantum is a spooky word which lets them believe building God is possible.
December 15, 2025 at 2:22 AM
I am of the opinion that the lying liars who lie about everything, in fact, are already lying about quantum computing (per my view inside the field), and that those lies are not any bigger than the ones about LLMs because they are stapled on to it. QC = path to AGI. It's the same lie. No changes.

I don't need to listen to anything and I certainly don't need you to slag off a stranger in my behalf. Be polite or go home.
December 15, 2025 at 2:19 AM
When I'm not on tour with The Pixies, I dabble in photonic circuits. The word "quantum" alone is enough for it to seem useful to these folks. The quantum bubble has already begun as a tertiary offset to the AI one. What happens when these folks are scrambling for the next pipe dream to pump?
December 15, 2025 at 2:14 AM
Sorry. I only listen to The Breeders albums on repeat (please don't tell Kim).
December 15, 2025 at 1:44 AM
Bluesky also has me, Frank Black, lead singer/songwriter of The Pixies, for what that's worth.

And I would argue that being able to run on hardware that isn't 80,000 Blackwell GPUs is precisely the theoretical line of thinking which will make quantum hardware/algorithms an attractive speculative asset.
December 15, 2025 at 1:34 AM
Not being able to do anything new or useful has not been a hurdle for speculative venture capitalism yet. The hardware/software requirements do not matter. What matters is the promise that, with enough money, a god can be created and owned by whomever funded it's creation
December 15, 2025 at 1:29 AM
Venture capital will flood from AI into quantum computing, in large part because quantum algorithms, in principle, might be able to possibly maybe technically dispense with the need for massive data centers, if everything goes exactly to the plan, the first time.

I can confirm as an actual fact that Palantir is absolutely silly with cocaine. Top to bottom. No one there is sober.
December 13, 2025 at 7:44 PM
It can never be overemphasized just how much damage to humanity precipitated from Scott Siskind's slackjawed"Ahhh, but there is a third very special group for the most specialist girls and boys who are not only correct but also morally just" piece.

Attorneys protect from legal trouble. They cannot provide any safety or protection to a person who is in zero legal trouble.

Am I understanding that you want to force victims to an active part of criminal proceedings, despite their own desires? That sounds like the exact opposite of safety.
December 10, 2025 at 8:25 AM
You need to be able to internalize criticism like an adult. If you want to accuse someone of not being open minded, you need to be damn sure that your ideas aren't reheated sloppy nonsense that have already been debated and rejected as nauseum.
December 10, 2025 at 8:22 AM
How does an attorney keep someone safe if the person is not in any legal trouble? The prosecutor is already doing everything you list. Why would another attorney change anything.

You haven't spent any time thinking about this, and it shows?
December 10, 2025 at 8:20 AM
Why do you expect anyone to be open minded to dogshit drivel. These aren't unique ideas you have. They are blisteringly common, and always terrible. There's a reason literally no one on the planet does these things. It isn't because they haven't thought of it.
December 10, 2025 at 8:19 AM
Why would a crime victim need an attorney? They aren't under prosecution. A victim's bill of rights already exists. It is called "The Bill of Rights". What you want is to negate the Bill of Rights for folks accused of crime. This is the worst idea you could have.
December 10, 2025 at 8:15 AM
There will never be an end of individual cases that you can choose to obsess over, if that is what you think is a good way to spend your time. Regardless, probation is not intrinsically bad. Nor are plea deals. They are necessary and good tools. Sometimes tools don't work, or are used incorrectly.
