(3/3) I also won't forget that our president said he was coming to the rescue of Iran's freedom fighters, creating false hope then moving on to the next news cycle — another mess of his own making. Feeling useless here. Can anyone tell me, what can I do to make a difference?

(2/3) He wrote that he had been shot during a protest after witnessing someone next to him killed by a sniper. His message: "If I am killed, don't forget me." I will never forget him and hope for his safety.

(1/2) I usually refrain from posting political comments of my own because IMO, ranting into the void and not effecting actual change does nothing. But yesterday, I received a message from a good friend in Iran who had managed to get through despite the internet ban.

@jennylsq.bsky.social Please do an XMU Session with @thebugclubband.bsky.social. I saw them a week ago at Bowery Ballroom and @roughtraderecords.bsky.social and they are the most exciting — and witty — new band to come along in quite some time. (I was side stage so vocals are muted.)
