Much gratitude to Mary and Katie Lincoln for agreeing to purchase and display my new book, SMALL VICTORIES in their beautiful shop. Means so much to see it for sale in Ardmore, my native village and favourite place.

Delighted to be doing a reading from my recent collection ’Small Victories’ in the Old Market House Arts Centre in Dungarvan on March 1st. So lucky to have the wonderful Lani O Hanlon to moderate. All very welcome. 📕

A Peace-Lily in our kitchen, hope it works its spell this year, on all the suffering and the troubled, everywhere.

Looking forward to this very much. My first time reading in Carrick-on-Suir. Thanks to Margaret O Brien for organising it.

Wonder if the RTE sports reporter would have said the match ‘ended in tears’ if it was the men’s football team who missed out on qualification last night.

When I hear Sinn Fein advocating stopping the supply of weapons to Ukraine, I think of Chamberlain’s appeasement of Hitler, and its consequences.

The American phrase
‘I got this’ has landed and is now part of how we speak in Ireland. I don’t know why this annoys me.

On this day 61 years ago, my tearful mother came into my room.
‘Kneel down and say a prayer for President Kennedy, he died this afternoon.’
I can see her still.
