Yeah, but the crackdown that could result might make things much worse. On some level people shooting ICE agents is what they want.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
ICE are cops...but only the bad parts.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
It's kind of amazing that hasn't happened yet. One day these Nazi ICE thugs are going to point a gun at a person who decides to shoot first.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
I hate to say it but the cop would be justified in using lethal force if someone pointed a gun at them from that range. They should get off.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
Maybe. Or it's going to take bold and decisive action to hold a lot of people accountable for their crimes immediately after sane people retake control of the government. Trump should only leave office in handcuffs unless we are fortunate that the Lord sends him out in a casket.

So nothing. They are going to do nothing.

So as I said, ethical news stories would say, "there is no justification for this" when publishing stories about it regardless of the social media presence of images.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
And their algorithm is likely not showing them these things regularly since besides this place basically the rest of social media is run by people who are either on board with the fascists or scared and doing their bidding.

So when you say a Senator "took money" from a person and then give the years of their elections, it would seem like you she is referring to political donations. That is a fairly tenuous link and not at all comparable to what he's asking about.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
I can imagine that's an even more complicated position to be in.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
The numbers are irrelevant. The reality is that there is nothing going on that warrants sending in National Guard troops. Ethically news sources who are interested in spreading truth don't need pictures from random people to report that as a story.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
This is one of the difficult things some people are going to have to reckon with (and probably already should be). Following the law is generally a virtue, but when the law demands people commit or condone unconscionable actions the virtuous action is to defy or circumvent the law.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
The news is ignoring it because it doesn't fit their narrative.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
No Dick, it's absolutely, unequivocally, without caveat a crime no matter how you slice it. And you shouldn't hedge on these people or their actions anymore. Call it out clearly and consistently.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
Damn I was going to make a joke about "he's not going to expose them if they blow his whistle" but yours is better.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
No. I don't believe Putin is very popular. So those polls are either rigged or a complete fabrication. But he's also a dictator with a stranglehold on the government there so his popularity is irrelevant.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
More people voted for Donald Trump in Los Angeles County, which is +33 Democrat, than in 23 states that he won. That's just 1 county, that he lost by 33 points, in one state that he lost by 20 points. Carving up the country by state votes is not feasible.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
You can just say, "California is blue so it joins the new 'blue' version of the US and since TX is majority red it joins the other one." That's not the reality on the ground because BOTH are purple, just one has a higher mix of blue and the other red. But both have millions who wouldn't agree.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
I live in PA. One of the most divided swing states. But you seem like you are willfully missing the point. There are millions of voters who happen to live in states where the balance within the state (not even taking gerrymandering into account) is out of their favor.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
Condemning some people to worse because it might make you're life better is some fucking Trumper shit. Be better.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
When you look at the top 10 states by vote for each presidential candidate for the last few elections they are the same for both. The political divisions do not at all fall along state lines. That's just an illusion we create with the Electoral college.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
Sometimes. But that doesn't change the point. Most states are higher population areas that are pockets of blue, with a lot of red in the middle. Some buck that but most, even solidly "red" and "blue" states fit that same pattern. It's just proportions that give them that appearance.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
But ignore that siding with the majority in the immunity case crossed a line that none of them can ever be on the right side of again by basically saying Trump can do whatever he wants with no consequences. They set the stage for all of this.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
"Legal experts" are likely to believe in the good faith of the courts and make excuses for it. These are the same people who will say, "actually Amy Coney Barrett is more moderate than expected" because she will occasionally not be 100% in line with fascism on a case once or twice per term.
frankgrimesiv.bsky.social
There are no clear lines to do that around. No states are "blue" or "red" they are all a mishmash of red and blue areas within. This would condemn a lot of people to a horrible existence because they live in a reasonable part of a state where there is a majority of Republicans.
