It is painful but denial is futile: The US is an enemy of Europe now. European politicians should act accordingly rather than trying to appease Trump.

Do you need to have that spelled out? Russia is waging war against sovereign countries. Russia is aggressively interfering with other nations politics. Russia is inciting a cyberwar with the west. No other country is nearly that malicious and aggressive - except, maybe, the US under Trump.
