Republicans are arguing to “literally take those words out of the constitution.”
December 6, 2025 at 7:39 PM
They do when they twist themselves in linguistic knots to frame stories in the most flattering way possible to the right.

Not a principle, it’s an unambiguous part of the Constitution.

The point you aren’t addressing is why keeping Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker will prevent us from dying from Whiteness (I will admit that I am slowly dying every day, but not sure if my whiteness will be a contributing factor)

Nah, come on. We all know it wasn’t this Steve Urkel looking dude. Be serious.
December 4, 2025 at 10:48 PM
Yeah, I think I’m just saying if this person was actually involved in some way, I do think the FBI should be able to reconstruct how it went down. But the people in charge are so corrupt and politically motivated that I doubt the entire process.
December 4, 2025 at 9:25 PM
I assume if that were the case, that would come out in interrogation and be verifiable by his communications. FBI tend to be the pretty thorough searching computers, phone records, etc.

Not saying I necessarily believe the FBI case under Patel, but I do think they’d be able to trace his contacts
December 4, 2025 at 8:45 PM
Does anyone believe this is the actual person? My default assumption is they will pin it on “The President of Antifa D.C.”

As dumb as the FBI has always been, kind of hard to believe it suddenly got better at solving cold cases under Kash Patel

The confidence the GOP signals outwardly and the confidence they feel behind closed doors are going to go in two different directions. They may be evil, but they certainly employ strategists and pollsters who can count. Every Republican in a R+15 or lower district understands what this means
December 3, 2025 at 2:14 PM
Yeah just having showrooms be owned by the car company, and standardized pricing is so clearly better. I hate the whole hours long song and dance routine, complete with 10 different “let me check with the owner” stalls. This huge endurance test to avoid being one of the suckers dealers rip off
December 3, 2025 at 4:52 AM
Tricky thing there is Trump’s worldview, he already extracted what he needs from voters, got elected twice. He doesn’t see a benefit in helping them. He doesn’t really need Congress to rule (as long as he has 34 R senators to prevent impeachment)

Probably sees that tariff money as belonging to him!
December 3, 2025 at 4:24 AM
Well this seat was already GOP, and winning this race would not have given Dems a majority. There’s a number of much closer districts where a ~15 point shift will flip a seat next year
December 3, 2025 at 3:03 AM
Trying to convince themselves more than anyone else, I’m sure
December 2, 2025 at 6:43 PM
If this Republican pulls out a +2 win in a Trump+22 district, our press for the most part lacks the Object Permanence to report on that objectively. They’ll either ignore it or publish something about how the Republican differentiated himself from Trump to win. Really hoping for an upset tho

Bad enough how quickly inkjets run out, but the real deciding factor for me was clogged nozzles if you try to print again after a lull in activity. Have also had Inkjets fail with broken motors and gears. Must have gone through 12 of them in ~25 years of use. I’m a Brother laser convert since 2021

received a failing grade. The TA would not be fired and blacklisted. But because this student was a conservative and because conservatives control all levers of power in Oklahoma and the US Government, they are able to wield power over teachers. Applying a grading rubric is now a fireable offense
December 2, 2025 at 12:49 AM
While a university accepting public funds should allow unpopular speech without reprisals… imagine if a student opined about something uncontroversial but tangential to the article, without citing any source or real connection to the topic under discussion. There would be no story if that student
December 2, 2025 at 12:49 AM
This is the kind of stuff this student’s mother has been retweeting since this happened. The essay itself called trans people “demonic” and mentally ill. You tell me what score out of 25 eliminationist rhetoric deserves? 14? 21? What grade would you have given it?
December 2, 2025 at 12:41 AM
I do, of course, recognize that the First Amendment allows for a private citizen to block me on Social Media. However where he and I disagree is whether the First Amendment allows a professor to give a conservative student a bad grade for a bad essay.
