Interesting email from Microsoft this morning. It led me to imagine a world where I could send an email to all my clients informing them that I’m increasing my fee by 45.5% “and don’t worry, I’ll just take the new amount out of your bank account on the same date each month”. Then I woke up. 🤪

So ‘Lord’ Mandelson is our new ambassador to the US. As a young journalist, I sat next to him at a business lunch back in the 1990s and he was horrible to me. I’ve heard similar stories and suspect that Pete is one of those politicians who doesn’t really care about anyone who isn’t useful to him. 😘

We had a brilliant time at the Christmas At The Botanics light show at Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Garden this evening. I was a bit sceptical beforehand as to whether it would be worth the effort to head into town - but it really was magical. Well done @thebotanics.bsky.social. Nice marshmallows too.
