Men in balaclavas set fire to a mosque in East Sussex last night. It's only appearing on the BBC's local coverage, rather than its main national headlines, despite coming just a week after the (also under-reported) firebombing of an asylum hotel in London last week

Peacehaven: Fire at East Sussex mosque probed as 'hate crime'

'You think you're right about everything,' has always been one of the strangest criticisms. Definitionally, we all think our own opinions are correct.

(Sarah Vine is potentially one of the most insufferably entitled people on earth)

I stopped after losing my mobile & realising if it'd been stolen, the thief had both my phone & effectively bank card (no biometrics needed for Google Pay). Contactless in general still feels a strange 'advance' - we gave up all the protection of a pin for something only v slightly more convenient?

Both good guesses but this time I meant every building in Leeds Uni!

It is an incredibly good bit to build your entire university campus on a big hill then connect the different buildings together in such a way that the floor you are nominally on bears no obvious relation to the amount of flights of stairs you climbed to get there

The issue is not whether 'Britain is far right' but why far-right politics have become so normalised

Rather than accepting this is a bottom-up, people-driven push, I argue that we must look at those who have the power to shape the agenda and public discourse

Is Britain far right?
Do most people in Britain really sympathise with far-right views? As Reform UK rises in the polls, we asked the experts.

I do not know who this man is or why he feels qualified to comment on what would be 'authentic' coming from me🫠

The Oxford Union president story has all the ingredients you need to do mad numbers among the UK commentariat, by which I mean it lets them defend a far-right grifter and, crucially, is happening in Oxbridge.

Seeing commentators claiming not everyone on the Tommy Robinson march was racist. I'm not even convinced of that, but let's allow it - they are *all* choosing to value their idea of what the UK should be over the safety/wellbeing of the racialised people Robinson targets.

Various flight delays making me increasingly furious as the day goes on. Feel like it's probably visible from my facial expression but also must be impossible to take seriously when for some reason I chose to travel in my 'i eat cement' t-shirt

Haven't made any effort at all to follow the Angela Rayner story, but still some really nice schadenfreude when you see someone who sold out any principles they may once have had to cozy up to people who were always going to hate them regardless get ratfucked.

I'd been wondering which of the UK commentariat would be first to go down the ecofascist route. Should, of course, have realised it'd be Goodwin.
