Also the crime in question is secretly chosen for you. Whether you actually commit it will not affect what happens, but the police is intentionally giving the task force false information since they're forced into it anyways. You are guaranteed the pardon afterward either way.

To be clear, you get to have your heroes come to you to arrest you before you're given an interrogation. The task force is instructed "We know they're guilty but we want you to draw out a confession or give us info that would invalidate an insanity plea so butter them up and answer their questions"

I'm personally concerned about the fact that the opening hours of the game are, reportedly, not very remarkable for Metroid Prime.
I feel some people just want Mp4 to be "Prime 1, but again" or "Prime 1, but with gimmicks!" and if it's the latte, it's a recipe for being uninteresting after awhile.
