Recently I learned of floating candles. I just love them. I got this jar at the Dollar Store put some water in it and dropped the candles in. The candles automatically light when they hit the water. It’s magical.

You can buy either hanging ones or upright. Because I like them in the main part of my garden I get the upright. They also start nicely from cutting.

Besides grapes it’s also harvest time for apples here in California. The Gravenstein apple is grown widely in Sonoma county.

Yesterday driving a friend around doing chores we passed by this house. Put the brakes on got out with my camera. Will be going back at night when it’s all lite up. The whole yard is full of Halloween 🎃

I talked to the docent about this tree and she said it is a ficus and she wished they hadn’t put fig in the name.There were tiny small fig like dropping all over the ground. Anyway no matter what it is, it is a very impressive tree.
