Human kind IS at its crossroad... do we explore space and continue our journey, OR do we meet oblivion at our own making? Sadly, it looks as though oblivion is on our dance card. We can stop our own extinction, and the extinction of thousands of species, but will we..?

Why do the Abrahamic religions persist?
Because there is control and power in unsubstantiated *belief*. With that comes wealth and sexual control... for the few at the top. It's manipulation of the uneducated/undereducated... plying them to do your will... even atrocities. Belief is a potent weapon
