Bless you Phil that’s really uncomfortable. Get well soon.

I particularly enjoyed the “especially” World Cup revenues.

He is so tedious
February 1, 2026 at 10:27 PM
Yeah it sucks. We have to overcome it, and we have overcome much worse. Feel much more bullish about our prospects after today even with this injury news.
February 1, 2026 at 9:12 PM
I agree, even if our form over the last 5 is third best in the league, but I also don’t believe we will perform like this for the rest of the season. This is a period of poor form. We should expect we will improve and revert to our usual level.
January 30, 2026 at 6:33 PM
And knowing the quality of the players, that this is below usual standards, an improvement is likely
January 30, 2026 at 4:28 PM
Ludicrous situation
January 29, 2026 at 10:45 PM
Jesus - wtf is it with us and loans?!
January 29, 2026 at 9:34 PM
Let’s hope it’s not a freight train
January 28, 2026 at 7:11 PM
Absolutely this. You can put a message on a pass, and these palace ones seem so decisive and full of intent. Ours have been the opposite. I really need to see more urgency and hunger in how we attack and move up the pitch.
January 27, 2026 at 9:48 PM
Relegation is still possible, even if unlikely
January 27, 2026 at 7:28 PM
Must make sure to enjoy it, might be the last for a year or two!
January 27, 2026 at 3:58 PM
I feel like he has said something similar before, about being close to the players, putting an arm round them, but I can’t remember when it was so can’t check what the response was!
January 27, 2026 at 3:49 PM
It’s a v interesting point, isn’t it?

Definitely rings true. At the same time, I believe there‘s too much top talent, in the squad and the coaching team, for it not to improve massively quite soon. Maybe that’s cope.

100% agree on Kai!

Also - is any team’s attack functioning well right now?
January 27, 2026 at 2:17 PM
Haha never mind. Not worth explaining. Fundamentally i agree with you
January 26, 2026 at 7:47 PM
Yes of course. It just makes people feel even more annoyed about the result, and that annoyance can bleed into over-criticism and fear
January 26, 2026 at 6:51 PM
I can’t believe I’m asking this, but if there is any significant concern over Kai staying fit (which surely there must be) then do we need to get another striker in on loan?
January 26, 2026 at 6:36 PM
I feel like the unholy trinity of poor performance - it being man united - three goals from 0.8xG is causing significant extra reaction (plus backdrop of general title race anxiety). That said, we really were poor after starting well and taking the lead, and it’s hard not to worry about that.
January 26, 2026 at 6:34 PM
Hope there is some solutions conversation in here, otherwise I’ll need to sit this one out. Gonna be a long week.
January 26, 2026 at 5:43 PM
Ditto Havertz
January 26, 2026 at 4:50 PM
Ah man what I wouldn’t give for a really commanding statement performance. Started well and then went to shit after taking the lead, which is somehow more concerning than just being shit throughout.
January 26, 2026 at 4:11 PM
A very calm assessment. I just can’t understand the apparent lack of urgency in Arsenal’s play when needing to win games.
January 26, 2026 at 4:08 PM
Thanks Matt. Needed that. I still struggle with what feels like a lack of urgency to win games, or any sense of genuine threat in attack. Still - bad performances happen and sometimes you get footballed. Just hope it’s not a mental block for the players.
January 25, 2026 at 9:24 PM
Just want to see this side show urgency. Feels like they only have one mode: control.
