Not really.

More like children shouldn't have to wear helmets as no one is out to kill them.

An excellent explainer about improvements planned for Abingdon town centre.

Improvements for pedestrian access to Market Square.

The proposed changes also connect the missing link in NCN5, meaning that you'll now be able to cycle along this stretch of the national cycle route!

I made a detailed explainer video (with Q&A) for the proposed new junction in Abingdon to prioritise walking, cycling, wheeling, and generally make it a more pleasant town centre

It won't work on the hardcore antis but I couldn't bear the lies going around!

Hey Nathan. Thanks for the explainer. It's very clear, and it helped to make more sense of the plans that I've already looked at.

I used to cycle commute to Milton Park, so I know too well how poor the current design is.

With thanks to everyone involved for getting Abingdon this far!

It's great to see the improved pedestrian and cycle provision happening!

Thanks to everyone involved.

I appreciate it's not a very helpful comment, but there would be masses of space if equal priority was given to through traffic, ie cars and bikes using the NCN.

There used to be a Taxi rank here, and parking is removed to prioritise motors during the fair.

Bikes are bottom of the pecking order.

What's your view on the jars of pre chopped garlic, if you have an opinion on it?

40 cloves ~ a jar I guess. Job done. Bish, bash bosh.

Thanks. A useful article.

And it gives me an opportunity to share bike parking that I installed.

It's used more often for guest parking, as I store mine undercover.

Not exactly space saving, unless you compare to guests arriving in their car.

For the best views, you could always step onto the A44

I love the way that Billy Brag leads Twice to make his claim about sharia courts.

Twice takes the bait, and with the context from Brag, Twice shows himself as the reactionary racist and / or wannabe populist he is.

Richard Tice, "We've already got 80 sharia courts in the UK"

Billy Bragg, "There are also Jewish courts as well, thats part of their religion. We as a tolerant nation accept that"

"To demonise, particularly the Muslims, is the sort of thing we worry about Reform UK"

Not just being a traitorous cunt.

Buying up huge amounts of agricultural land so as to avoid inheritance tax, and then complaining about measures to close the farmland tax loophole.

That will do it, you tax dodging, shit hoover flogging, cunt.

Okay. But no need to be so judgemental about other people's food choices.
fredfelt.bsky.social
If you want meat, the obvious that's what you should have.

But let's respect the decisions of others.
fredfelt.bsky.social
No, it's meant to be vegan or vegetarian.

It's personal taste that informs if people want a something resembling meat.

I put the same spikes up to stop the cat walking along the fence to access the bird box.

Whitney walks and sits on the spikes to access the bird box!
fredfelt.bsky.social
I find it incredible that people don't understand the very obvious point that you are making!

I mean, is it really important to this lot to know that an animal has suffered for them to take pleasure from a taste they are familiar with?
fredfelt.bsky.social
Why would a meat eater, not want to reduce the suffering placed on other animals and the environmental burden they inflict from their diet?

Consider a veggie burger a gateway food for a meat eater into the massive varied styles of a plant based diet.
fredfelt.bsky.social
Agree.

Additionally..

A sports car that accelerates like a sports car is pointless -- and also dangerous.

“make reference to Oxford’s famous spires”.

I wonder if anyone recognised this oblique reference?

Certainly not me 🙂

Sure, you like having fags, but do you enjoy smoking?

(I'll get my hat)

Well done you for choosing to refrain from cycling in the company of idiots.

That misses the point entirely though.

As a pedestrian or a cyclist, if your path crosses an out of control road user, what ever vehicles they are in, you might be injured or killed.

You have no choice. That's the point.

Our topic is grouse moors, which are ecological deserts, in comparison with their potential if the land were allowed to regenerate.

For this reason I've not got into whataboutism other land uses.
