These were such interesting games of that era! I would love to see another one but I've lately given up hope. Maybe a smaller studio will do a spiritual successor one of these days. That's probably more likely than Bungie doing it themselves, unfortunately

Yeah I agree with this - both in terms of mechanics and presentation they really lean into the magic stuff more. I'm guessing they felt players underutilized it a bit in the first game (or they just wanted it to feel different from the first one)

Ah I see - come to think of it, I do recall dashing more in the first one but I haven't gotten too many of the dash boons. Maybe it's better in other ways - like you can't dash as much but the effects are stronger?
