As a clear example, I can probably name / describe more current US senators than I can name / describe current Swedish members of government.

I would also jump as an agree on what @mrsplatypus.bsky.social and @zhl.bsky.social are saying. Despite being Swedish I will know what is happening in the US from it bleeding into conversations while I have to make an active effort to keep on top of Swedish news and politics.
