Ethan Hawke is terrific in The Lowdown. by the same creator of Reservation Dogs. Would rec!

Hunters season 2 - it's good but doesn't totally live up to season 1. Tbh the big, "shock" plot line falls so flat. as does much of the flashback work (the Zuchs backstory was a snoozer). but most of the present tense Jonah/Hunters timeline is still aces like s1 was!

Most watched actors/ Most watched directors of the year is always a vibe lol

watching Nobody Wants This s2 which is great, but it troubles me somewhat how much more i relate to this than the other very popular modern show set in LA right now

Rehearsal season 2 is killer. Nathan Fielder got a blank check and watching him spend it is absolutely hilarious. The 'Sully' bit is outrageous performance art

Checking out this Sexy Beast miniseries. Will report back

My problem with streamonomics is simple. I pay $22/month for HBO (owned by Warner Bros). yet I still cannot watch the movie Heat whenever the fuck I want, despite being produced by WB. Just hope the VPs who make these decisions are at least screaming 'he's got a great ass!' as they fuck us monthly

Tubi is such a crazy streaming service. It’s like if the Criterion Closet was in a gas station

2 eps into Black Rabbit - thrilling so far. Gritty like Ozark, fairly quick pace, like what we're seeing so far

Put on The Franchise tonight. Hope this is another banger

Diving into Landman season 2. The season 1 recap is already hype as shit lol

Been watching The Agency: Central Intelligence. Decent show but a tad slow. From a couple great writers in Jez & John-Henry Butterworth

Started I Love LA as well -- fun show

Wrapped up Task last night. Good show, has a terrific denouement

The Chair Company really delivers in every way imaginable. Right up there with The Curse, The Rehearsal, and even Jury Duty as signature meta-comedy series of the decade

Everyone knows Collins didn't rip off Battle Royale with Hunger Games. She ripped off The Condemned (2007) - it's well documented the author was an absolute freak for WWE wrestling, especially the Attitude Era led by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin
Quentin Tarantino bashes ‘The Hunger Games’ for “ripping off” ‘Battle Royale’ on Bret Easton Ellis’ podcast:

“I do not understand how the Japanese writer didn’t sue Suzanne Collins for every f***ing thing she owns.”

Might start Ahsoka next? Only got 2 weeks left of my Disney trial and can probably do one more show (which i know all of my Lboxd fans are happy to hear that I'll go back to watching the sordid and obscure media of manic depressives)

Watched Chad Powers-- great show, very enjoyable.

Watching The Chair Company-- another great show, very enjoyable.

Crazy update - first time since i got on Letterboxd in 2016 that Samuel L. Jackson has been supplanted as my most watched actor. SLJ has anchored that upper left most spot since the beginning. Apologies to all my fans. Will rectify by finally watching The Sunset Limited
November 3, 2025 at 11:00 PM
Watched Moon Knight (good) and The Acolyte recently

A part of me really thinks David Corenswet is the next James Bond. I like Aaron Pierre if they have to go Brit for it though- guy's so steely and has the look for sure. those are my 2 picks :)

Watched Secret Invasion as well. Really like that it's a very different wrinkle than most of MCU so far. Samuel L. is just so aces as Nick Fury and has the character down perfectly which really makes it fun

Started Six Feet Under with Kelly. Still attempting to find "our show." Watched 2 eps. She didn't like it, but I really dug it lol
