I am a Vietnam-era Veteran who served during Desert Storm and was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon. I have spent much of my life in service, but the need to stand up and speak out has never felt more urgent than now.

While this is true and we are happy to see some movement, but what about the others. What about those who name appears thousands of time. What about the Republicans...this can not and will not soothe our request for justice.

It is those who choose to use guns as a means to an end that makes them dangerous. It was stated in the past that the pen is migther than the sword. Words, like bullets can pierce the heart, and tear it apart. Free speech is mighty and should be used to build up and not teardown.

When I worked behind the walls these things happened often. The denial of medical care reached a point where ten inmates sued the state and won. This led to the medical system being placed in receivership. It is still in place today.

But, what about us...since congress is sitting on it's hands, it is up to the people to shout to the World our injustice!

During my time working as a Correctional Officer in the prison, I developed an attitude of superiority over the inmates. I was not tolerant of them as a person. Although I never violated their rights, I didn't believe they had anything coming. I left the system rather than lose my self worth.

3 years in Oki, deployed to Mainland Japan and Korea. After that 2 years on the USS Horne CG 30, now Devon in the Pacific off Hawaii. Last deployment was to North Vietnam for Operation Full Account...looking for POWs and MIAs. Mostly informational.
