Mike Parsons - If you are believing for something, you cannot be negative about it or double-minded. You need to live in the reality that you have already received it. Jesus said to pray believing that you have received, and you will receive. Of course, this can easily drift into selfishness. Bigger house, bigger car, better job, more of this and more of that.

Mike Parsons In my new teaching series we are going to look at restored sonship. This carries with it not only the perspective of our relationship with God as Father, but also the outworking of that relationship as sons and co-heirs, joint heirs and co-creators with God in what he is doing within his kingdom. This is something that has been on my heart for a long time, and it is something I am genuinely excited about.

Mike Parsons - All of us, every single person reading or listening to this now or in the future, are children of God. You are the apple of God’s eye, the treasure of His heart and the object of His desire. For some people, that is very hard to believe. The way they have been taught through religion, family upbringing or personal experience has shaped how they think about themselves and how they think about God.

Mike Parsons - What is love? If we are talking about first love, we need to ask what love actually is, and what makes first love different. Why is first love so important? Our eternal destiny is established on the restoration of our first love experience with our heavenly Father. We will never fully become who we truly are unless we know who we truly are.

Mike Parsons - This is the relationship God wants us to have: the deepest, most intimate relationship we could ever have with anyone. He wants to reveal Himself in such a way that this relationship becomes possible, because we are no longer caught up in the issues that have separated us from Him or made us fearful of intimacy.

Mike Parsons - When God calls us into something, there is always a transformation that takes place in us. It is not just about what we are being used to do. Any change God brings will always change us. To come into agreement with God, we have to allow anything that is in disagreement with Him to be changed.

Mike Parsons - The enemy comes to rob, kill and destroy, but we are promised abundant life. It is interesting that people have different views of immortality and how it works. I think if you are thinking about immortality from the perspective of, “Well, I am not going to die,” then you have to be prepared not to die. So how are you going to live?

Mike Parsons - Let's recognise our identity as sons, and our position in heaven, seated in heavenly places, functioning in the order of Melchizedek. We are functioning as priests and kings, and as oracles and legislators. We are close to the Father’s heart. We know the Father’s heart. We establish the Father’s heart through government. We work that as an oracle.

Mike Parsons - The difference between a lucid dream and a vision is really only that you are asleep rather than awake when you have it. They are basically the same thing, just in a different format, one being asleep and one being awake.

Mike Parsons - Vibration and frequency are slightly two different things. When something vibrates, the frequency is how often it vibrates in a period of time. In terms of vibration, your physical body is reacting to a spiritual phenomenon. That might be when the presence of the Holy Spirit comes upon you and people begin to shake, or they begin to vibrate, or they might even feel hot.

Mike Parsons The deconstruction of our way of thinking comes from experiencing God. If I present people with theory about God, they will soon spot the gaps in that theory reflected in my own life. If I share the testimony of my experience of God, based on knowing that God loves me unconditionally, that there are no conditions attached, that I have been reconciled and included in Christ and all those wonderful things, then I am able to share that good news with others because I have truly experienced it.

And I would say that evangelicalism is very cult-like in the way in which it uses guilt and shame and condemnation to control people, and keep people in line; get people to toe the denominational line or the church line or whatever those beliefs are.

I knew a little bit about Augustine and but I never studied him. I didn't know what Augustinianism was. So I had to go and look it up.

Kingdom people used to say, “We are in training for reigning,” and I do not think they had any idea what reigning really was. I think they thought of it more as an earthly thing rather than something beyond that.

Mike Parsons - No video showing? Please click here. They didn't believe it in the early church. There was no penal substitutionary atonement. The atonement, or what Jesus did on the cross, was Christus Victor, mostly. Christ victorious over what? Our lost identity, our death, over everything. A very different view of what Jesus did. But Protestantism very quickly picked up on penal substitutionary atonement and it became the cornerstone of Calvinism and lots of other streams of thought.

When I began to express my doubts about it to others, one woman involved in mystic and mentoring groups emailed me, saying I was trying to take away 'the cornerstone of her faith'. She was serious and angry at me because she wanted to hold onto PSA as the cornerstone of her belief.

I believe six of them were religious pillars, and three were cultural or scientific. It was then that I realised these pillars were framing how I viewed the world and understood reality around me.

All those people who say they have been in hell for ten minutes, or whatever, are framing their experience through their theological understanding of hell rather than the truth. They see what they expect to see. That is the problem. We can be confirmation-biased and create our own scenario around what God is really trying to show us.
