I recently read Endurance by Alfred Lansing about Shackleton’s famous polar expedition where everyone did actually make it out alive and did NOT die horribly, but oh god while I was reading I was like this sounds awful. I simply would not make it

relatedly, do you have any food/place/etc recommendations or tips for visiting Mexico City? my sister is going next year for the first time; I know that you’ve vacationed there quite a bit and based on your posts always seemed to have a nice time!

oh that’s on my TBR! Last year I read a fictionalized, told-in-verse story of the Donner Party (The Snow Fell Three Graves Deep) and thought it was very interesting but I definitely want to read a nonfiction account!
