The gospels were written by authors several decades later, and written for cult members or to convince people to join the cult(s).

Their narratives are clearly appealing to people who are suffering this or that malady, or oppression (by somebody.)

The authors of gLuke and gJohn, however, were definitely interested in blaming "the Jews", which suggests authorship dates after the Kitos uprisings.

The political authorities were the Herodians, vassals of Rome.

As in almost all content of the gospels, the story is unlikely to be accurate historically.

However, literarily, the story is one of a religious extremist who was fighting both the religious and political authorities.

Which means the gospels were always "social gospel" stories.

It's also misleading.

There are always arid areas on Earth, from fierce deserts to dry savannahs.

Huge swaths of the ocean get little rain.

Migration of Hadley circulation poleward has long been expected. Increased pan evaporation likewise.

It's not a "breakdown" - it's just expected change.

It's a bit of an artificial conflict.

Most Christian authorities have been anti-gay since, well at least the 2nd century.

Fixating on an English word ("homosexual") ignores the substance of Pauline letters, which include language that is very damning of some same-sex behavior.

GMST are usually discussed as multi-decade averages (20 year or 30 year).

We still are NOT at 1.5C above pre-industrial, when looking at those longer averages.

So, we have NOT so far exceeded warming projected in RCP8.5 .

A great many historians have investigate the relationship to Qumran communities (plural) with early Christianity.

However, if you're looking at the 2nd century it seems by then that Christianity was being shaped/re-shaped by middle-Platonism.

So you're just going to be a dick every time someone asks you a question?

The graph in the paper that was posted LEAVES OFF A GREAT MANY ERUPTIONS over the last 500 years. Read the text to figure out why they chose the ones they did.

Why did you write "even more recently" when that webpage is from 2022 and the Nature preprint is very recent?

Also, Hunga Tonga Hunga Ha'apai effects have been calculated and were shown to make a *small* contribution to the record 2024 GMST.

You need help.

Perhaps a trip to a psychologist will be useful to you.

There are many different victims of violence.

You don't seem to care about the others.

The Nicene creed was, and still is, politics.

Why not save Nigerian Muslims?

Why not save Nigerian animists?

I would rather no one be victims of violence.

To me it does not matter who they are.

You, on the other hand, are a tribalist.

Your first response was giving a middle finger to the entire message of the good samaritan parable.

You are a tribalist.

So, you're not really your brother's keeper.

What "hope"?

As in literally, where is "hope" in that article. I searched it and the word seems to have been removed, though the thumbnail image description includes it.

"rather than solely" is doing a lot of work there.

Mammoths of one sort or another lived during the man glaciation/deglaciation events of the Pleistocene.

Until humans over-hunted them.
