Made some adjustments to the "how I do Play By Post" article I published last week based on some reader feedback. If you are at all interested in running a PbP game in the future, have a look!

This whole thread is good, but I want to highlight #3 here - these games are fun thing you can do with your friends, playing with cool people you like who are new to the hobby or even just a bit curious is really great, and it'll offer up fresh perspectives on things that are otherwise old hat
2. Play consistently. Set expectations that people show up, and play whenever you have quorum.
(This one is important.)

3. Invite non-gamers. Invite the cool person from work. Invite your cousin. Have them invite people. Teach them your game of choice.

Just found out about the solo TTRPG Wreck this Deck where you cut, rip, burn, and draw on playing cards.

"...A dark urban fantasy game of solo journaling, demon summoning and deck crafting. Summon and bind demons into your Demon Deck, defacing the cards as you go"

I think I may be alone in this, but one thing that annoys me in a lot of TTRPGs is constantly erasing and rewriting things on your character sheet until you are left with a gray smudge in the most rewritten sections or a hole in the paper.

I wrote a retrospective on D&D 5E after spending ten years playing it. It's split into two parts: the good and the bad. I know you all already have opinions about this game, but maybe my decade spent with it has given me some insights.

Here's part 1: knightattheopera.blogspot.com/2024/11/ten-...

I've only ran it for a session or two but I really enjoyed the lore of the world and it's very well written.
It's the last day of Heart's run on Bundle of Holding, where you can get loads of PDFs for less than the cost of the corebook alone. (Plus! A portion of the profits support emerging RPG designers, which is nice, isn't it.)

Here's a thread of our favourite bits from Heart:

I love how the panels show the sequential snippets of a short story or the snippets of a larger one.
I've just never experienced an RPG rulebook like Break. It's absolutely jam packed with artwork from the greatest anime series that never was and it instills me with a heavy nostalgia for something no one will ever be able to watch.
