Carney seems to be a “true believer” as evidenced by the fact we even *have* an “AI Minister”. I agreed with the previous government’s support for a center of excellence in AI. It worked. But using AI unwisely in government is going to burn us all.

Also, I guess my parents should have gone to jail, since my brother died in a similar manner. 🤷‍♀️

Are they Black?

(This whole thing about not ever letting your kids out of your sight is so messed up. Remember: “Go outside, be back for dinner”? No cell phone, riding your bike all day with friends? How did that become criminal?)

Ha ha. Chester does that a lot, too, and I tell him “it’s just your own stank, buddy! What’s the mystery? Nobody’s been on that blankie except you.” He’s not amused.

NFTs encouraged speculation (a fancy word for gambling). It made a few artists wealthy but left most with nothing. When the gamblers left to play with meme coins, the whole blockchain art scene kind of died. Maybe it can be revived but probably not to the scale it was before.

That’s an excellent answer. 🙂

True, “AI” for art does not imply off-the-shelf diffusion models (though there’s nothing wrong with them). Artists that write and/or train their own models must be equally frustrated with the “what prompt did you use?” thing, too.

I have nothing in general against NFTs for art, but there is a lot of trash on blockchains, that’s for sure. And it does give other artists a bad name. I don’t know a better way to pay digital artists for their work, though, especially for providing royalties on secondary sales. 🤷‍♀️

Like…who the hell would do that?!
