Only the first two (The Colour of Magic, and The Light Fantastic) are directly connected narratives. Most of the other novels are usually good to read as one-offs, but there's a fair amount of sub-series that focus on different characters

I'd probably say it's on par at best, depending on the controller's condition. Once the controller is updated via firmware, it connects specifically via Bluetooth LE, so it might not work with older hardware that doesn't support LE mode. It's worth it if you can find a good discount

I never used Stadia as a service, but a few months ago I bought a controller used on eBay for around $10 plus shipping. Putting aside the fact that it was a pain to disassemble and clean, it's actually a really solid controller once it's had the Bluetooth patch installed.
