Enjoy! It's an amazing exhibition. I wish I could go again, but shall have to be happy with the catalogue.

Love seeing the Aus bands. Shout out to @tanyaplibersekmp.bsky.social for her Triffids. Hope some one is wearing the Go-Betweens and Hunters and Collectors.

If communication is an issue between them, they're right to press pause and reconsider whether getting married is right for them.

Queen Maud, owner of perhaps the most incredible wardrobe ever. So grateful that we still have a lot of it. I adore her taste.

Pretty sure that woman leaving the prison knows someone she can have sex with, if that’s what she wants - because we all do. Sex is free and plentiful when you’re a woman, if she’s shagging a random stranger it’s because it’s her thing.

Thanks Derek. Another great post in your series ‘rules to live by: philosophy through dress’.

That's not how the housing market works.

I wanted to buy a house with a partner, but when that plan wasn't happening just went ahead and bought as a single woman. Had to change career, city and bank to make it happen.

Bingo: met the partner soon after, but glad I didn't wait any more.

I used to call them 'emotional vampires'.

Nothing you can say or do will make them happy: they just want to drain your empathy and support and then leave you as a broken husk questioning your life choices.

The divorce rate in 1980 was high due to pent up demand: it took years for the backlog to flow through from the introduction of no-fault divorce. Millions of unhappy couples.

Those worried about the increasing age of women for first marriage should consider that men, too, get married older now.

Do they think we'd find that funny, or do they just hate us that much?
November 15, 2025 at 1:10 AM
Sorry to hear that. Strolling is very pleasant though.

Incredible! That must have been amazing. We’ve seen a few running events here: a night run at the Roman amphitheatre in Lyon and another run at Bordeaux. I admire you, I’m more a stroller.

Men missing the ‘good old days’ when church and state supported them raping their wives.

I’m guessing that roasted vegies aren’t as common in your part of the world as they are in mine. You might need to appeal to a friend who likes to cook.

You’re missing out! Grab a separate roasting pan (so mum is ok) and give them a burl. Chuck in some onions, herbs, other vegies and drizzle over some olive oil.

Roasting makes everything taste better.

Have you tried roasting them? Roasted radishes are delicious!

Sounds like he’s the high maintenance one, with his flurry of messages long after she’s lost interest.

Thank you: we’re having a wonderful time seeing different parts of France. It’s like travelling to different countries, each city is so different.

If you’re on instagram, I’m putting lots more pics up there: nicole__jenkins (double space)

They were just setting up for Christmas when we were there! I bet it’s amazing. Lucky you spending a summer there!

We’re visiting a few different French locations and so far, Strasbourg has been my favourite. I could happily live there, I think.

Oh thank you! I saw it but didn’t go in - but did buy at their shop at the modern art museum. I love Strasbourg! A very beautiful and liveable city.

I would describe it as shouting, rather than screaming but yeah, I worked in a few all-male workplaces in the early ‘80s (logistics, transport, warehousing) and there was a lot of bad behaviour. Gender-balance makes a lot of difference.
