Ut Ostfreesland. Heb mien äigen kopp. Altied is teetied. Tägn alns, watt buten de FDGO is. De AfD hoort verboten.
Different strokes for different blokes.
Greenland is an autonomous region, Scotland is an English colony.
Now doff your cap and tug your forelock!

Not for the EU. For the EU it would be stupid and dangerous to still have America's poodle UK as a member.

The BBC is an institution created in the days of the British Empire.
Hence it's only logical, it treats Scotland and Wales like the English colonies they actually are.

Scotland and Wales are nations in name only. In real life they are English colonies.

The EU demands a "Farage insurance" in the planned SPS agreement, i.e. compensation from the UK in case Farage will renege on the agreement.

There are more forms of nationalism in the UK, because the constituent parts are called nations rather than regions.
What would be regional parties in other countries, are called national parties in the UK.

Delighted?
I hate the thought of someone like Kemi Badenoch sitting at the table in Brussels.
Best to keep the UK out forever.
Scotland should be allowed to join, though.

It wasn't just funny, it was absolutely radicchio!

Never make people in colonies think, that they could make a living being independent.
The usual tactics of a colonial power.

Weiß eigentlich jemand, ob Friedrich Merz österreichische Vorfahren hatte?
January 5, 2026 at 7:19 AM
With the English colonies of Scotland and Wales still existing, English politicans can probably be forgiven for thinking, that the British Empire still exists.
Every single day the UK isn't an EU member state is a Brexit benefit for the EU.
January 4, 2026 at 5:22 PM
Pure English exceptionalism.
"They need us more than we need them."
Or so English politicians still think.

Unfortunately for us West Germans the decline of the sowiet union made unification possible.

I really liked "Expert C Programming Deep C Secrets" by Peter van der Linden as follow-up to KR.

"Sovereignty is priceless" only ever paraphrased that the UK couldn't afford it.

Exactly that. Just look at UK politics in the last ten years.
