No. Jesus is saying when we mourn, when we are persecuted, God is close to us. God blesses us. We cannot try to be pure in heart, or poor in spirit, all we can do is try to be close to Jesus for he, as St Paul says, is our righteousness. (1 Cor 1:26-31)

Prayers for all those good citizens of the USA whose work will be needed, when the present situation has passed, to restore the country to what it should be, both within itself and for the rest of the world.
