No chimney caps 100 yrs ago. Before we got married, my wife used to have the occasional squirrel in her basement, could never figure out how they got in.
Turns out the squirrels would warm themselves on the roof by the chimney, pass out from the fumes, fall in, and wake up in the air ducts.

Not impossible, but certainly not easy, especially as it continues to pop up in more and more Windows apps. Like does anyone REALLY need Copilot in MS-Paint?
There are several registry hacks, Powershell scripts, policy settings, etc. online, but no easy single "click button" solutions.
