It's too hot to spend time in a small room with stinky chemicals, so I'm letting the Aussie sun do the work for me. Chlorotype contact prints on leaves from a grape vine and kiwi vine.

Call to sign petition EN7833 to get Functional Neurological Disorder recognised by the NDIS What is functional neurological disorder? Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) is a serious, neurological condition that effects how the brain sends and receives signals. It is not caused by structural damage but by disrupted communication within the brain’s motor and sensory networks. FND can cause variety of neurological symptoms affecting the motor, sensory and cognitive functions of the body. A systemic failure FND is one of the most common reasons for neurology outpatient referrals. Whilst sometimes people experience short-lived symptoms and recover from the condition, for many people, it is lifelong and incurable. Despite this, people with FND are consistently denied access to the NDIS. This reflects a systemic failure of understanding, awareness, and policy. It places unsustainable pressure on public hospitals, mental health services, carers, and families—while leaving individuals without the supports they urgently need. Perpetuating the stigma of history From the long unhelpful misdiagnoses of the past, such as ‘hysteria’, ‘factitious disorder’, or Freud’s ‘conversion disorder’ – FND patients have long struggled with stigma surrounding their condition. Originally thought to be a pyschiatric condition brought on from trauma, this model of understanding has since been dropped from official diagnostic criteria as in almost every research study a relevant trauma history could not be identified in a significant number of patients.

Developing day today. 5 rolls of B&W. A mixed bag: 3 half rolls of FP4+ used for camera testing, a roll of Double-X, and a roll of Rollei Paul & Reinhold that I accidentally shot at 100 instead of 640 😬

On a cold, wet, windy day it pays to have some little "go to" projects. Cleaning day today.

The old kodak camera with the missing face plate will be repurposed as a Pinhole Camera. Originally taking 320 film, I'll be able to use it with 120 film or 14 x 8cm paper negatives.

F1 is back after the summer break in Zandvoort. We visited the track in January this year. It was so foggy we could hardly see anything, but an awesome experience to walk around such an historic track. There was even a junior race on at the time.

So, I was supposed to have four darkroom prints featured in an exhibition this week, but at the last minute two of them were rejected. Being in the middle of a cancer treatment cycle I couldn't print any replacements, so I'm out. 😔

I spent today helping a local woman clean out her uncle's old darkroom. What an amazing space (<4m2 tin shed) and lots of lovely treasures. 3 shopping bags of expired paper to try out.

First time shooting colour film at night with long exposures. Was not expecting so much colour. The second photo is of me walking in and out of the equipment with my phone torch turned on.
