I see Bsky as a good thing, and a refuge from the snark and jabber on fb. My problem here is that I do not understand how to get conversations going with 300 char. limit. Lots of interesting and useful info, but not much conversation.

This morning I looked in the Wash Post, NY Times, and The Hill for coverage of the big Friday economic blackout and there was nothing. I did a search and found that the most recent coverage was a couple days old. So I don't know if they refused to cover it or it just fizzled.

A 300-character text limit may have benefits, but even clear thinking people who write concisely may find it a wall to expression rather than a bridge to good communication. Why can't you provide people the space they need to say what they want?

The trumpers are already ignoring the law, and the Constitution, and they are creating immeasurable damage to people, and to democracy. They will not be discouraged by words.

I see a growing swell of anti-trump memes and groups on the Internet. They are all brave, and hopeful. But it's mostly fist-shaking, and ankle-biting, and trying to be positive or sound strong in the face of political adversaries that are not touched by any of these things.

So Musk has invaded and taken over a branch of the federal government and no one has stopped him. Democrats apparently knocked on the door and were turned away, demonstrating they were powerless. Which is just what we need now.

Well, it's hopeful. Some of my good friends have moved over from fb or elsewhere, and since we're following each other I trust posts will be visible, each to the other. Just having a few good friends here is a real boost and I'm more confident now this mysterious thing called networking will happen

I see an increasing number of fb escapees here on Bsky but no way to create a group or forum to connect them. There is a link to a page with information on how to create a feed but it requires some knowledge of code and that's beyond me. What a wonderful thing if someone could help fix this.

New to Bsky, not fully invested yet, not sure how to create the strongest base of friends. I do know more of my fb friends are escaping the ZuckMuck and moving here. It would be a good thing if they had a meeting place, what you call a feed here, I guess. I

I am probably missing something. I can find a very diverse and interesting array of news topics on Bsky but I have not yet found a way to converse with people and get a response. I need to connect with the other fb friends that have come over and stay in touch; don't know how to do that.

@wovlerine.bsky.social Hello from the upper side of tjhe globe! I joined Bsky recently and was so happy to find a total absence of snark and meanness. Also very few friends yet; making the connections is a different deal over here. Also the 300-character limit to texts takes getting used to.

This month and December I feel like a guy who got an awful disease and the doctor well we might find some treatments that will make it go away, or maybe not. We'll know the first week in January.

There's no lack of evidence Trump is on his way to a dictatorship. It's unlikely Congress can stop him. I'm wondering if the military can. Will. Wants to.

There's no way of knowing how successful trump's dictatorship will be. Under trump, there will be nowhere to avert our eyes and not see what we have lost, and what we have become. There will be no point in saying, well, hopefully things will get better. We can not hope our way out of this one.

Just a few days on Bluesky now, trying to learn the ropes and make myself a home here. I was never on twitter, certainly not X, and the 300 max character rule is an adjustment. The only serious concern I have is engagement.. I'm not getting much feedback and don't know why yet.

I was never on twitter, so bsky is my first time to deal with a 300 character limit. In principle I see the benefit of a short post. Being concise is good. But I do not have a 300 character mind. I'm finding that on bsky I start to type something I think is important and I simply run out of characte

Also having to get use the 300 character limit. Was never on twitter/X so this is new to me. It's a small thing. Just look at it as a challenge, right?
