AI is devious?! Read an article in Wired about Deep Dreams which is a project to map AI “thinking”. Seems Large Language Models (LLMs) lie. Anthropic’s is doing research on how LLMs think. If I read it correctly, in some instances, they are like a politician and bullshit with the best of them.

There is this amazing bridge going into Vancouver! A really nice city! Canadians are nice and friendly. I’ve not heard any shouting, angry words or cursing. A clean city. Lots of color and colorful people. America should emulate Canada.

I crossed into Canada today. I don’t feel safe in the US, too much danger for non white, non male, non Christian people. But I got a 20 minute lecture at the border, “you people coming to escape political issues can’t stay here.” Etc. So if you’re planning on Canada as a safe zone. Maybe not ideal.

Joan Didion lover? I have a friend who adores Joan Didion. Reads old British women authors, only dead authors, and reads mostly non fiction. Also loves true adventure stories, especially seafaring tragedies. Anyone else in that club?
